On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 Sam Dovelle, age 67, proud United States Army Medical Veteran, of Gaithersburg, MD peacefully passed with the comfort of his wife and son by his side holding his hands. Sam was born in Detroit, MI on August 29,1955 to Tony Dovelle and Selma, née Yacuone, Dovelle. Beloved husband of Linda Karen, née Ouslan, Dovelle of Gaithersburg, MD; loving father of Anthony "Tony" Karl Dovell of Germantown, MD; fond brother of Sherry Josephine (Larry) DePompolo, of Dowling, MI, Toni Concetta Gatto, of Allen Park, MI and the late Jane Dovelle; adoring uncle to numerous nieces, nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews; honored godfather of Morgan Ouslan, Nigel Ouslan, Richard Antonio Deceasre and Ryan Crosthwaite; a dedicated occupational therapist/certified hand therapist, he leaves behind his dear work family and patients; Sam is also survived my many other cherished relatives and friends.
Sam Dovelle was genuinely loved by his work family. At the office, he was affectionately given nicknames - "Bag O Donuts" (because of his sweetness) and " Sam the Hand Man". Sam's life was incased in work; his friends were his coworkers and patients. He loved people - he always showed it by giving all he knew his most sincere care and compassion. Part of his legacy is not only his dedication to his work, but his generosity that was graciously extended to all. Work was not his only passion; he was an avid woodworker. Sam could amaze you with his fabulous craftmanship and creations from cabinetry to keepsakes. With his artistic brilliance, he could draft an idea and make it into a woodworking reality.
He is a rare gem who will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing now and forever.
