In Loving Memory

Louise (LeBlanc) McLane 1943 – 2025

Louise (LeBlanc) McLane, whose intelligence, compassion, and sunny disposition warmed the hearts of all, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 82.

Born in Manchester, NH in 1943, Louise graduated from Central High School and the Chandler School for Women in Boston. She later earned her degree in psychology from the University of New Hampshire, a reflection of her lifelong curiosity and love of learning.

Louise married her high school sweetheart, William Farrell McLane, with whom she shared two decades of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and deep affection. Together they raised two daughters, Jessica and Alison, who remained the center of her world. Though their lives eventually took different paths, William remained a close friend and cherished presence throughout Louise’s life. She later found happiness with her second husband, Wayne Murray, sharing years of boating adventures, friendship, and new experiences.

Throughout her life, Louise was deeply engaged in her communities, volunteering for countless organizations such as the United Way and the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth. A talented cook and natural host, she co-owned a catering business with one of her closest friends and later a gourmet frozen yogurt company with her husband Wayne and his family.

An avid runner, Louise approached fitness, as she did everything, with determination and discipline, balancing her passion for a healthy lifestyle with an equal appreciation for great food and even better wine.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica McLane Gann and Alison McLane Harris; their husbands, Eric Gann and Duncan Harris; her grandchildren, Hadley and Tucker Harris; and her brother, Arthur LeBlanc. She was predeceased by many beloved pets, her brother Gerald LeBlanc, her second husband Wayne Murray, and her parents.

Louise’s life was defined by intellect, generosity, and heart, a legacy that will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date
