Isabela Carmen Eslinger

August 6, 2014 — September 7, 2026

Isabela “Isa” Carmen Eslinger, daughter of Owen J. Eslinger and Yolanda del Carmen Mendoza Eslinger, passed away on September 7, 2026, at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, from complications of a bone marrow transplant. Isa had battled leukemia for the previous nine months.

She is survived by her brothers, Owen J. Eslinger II, José Augusto Eslinger, and Juan Manuel Eslinger; her grandmothers, Maria Mayorga Mendoza and Diane Hime; her grandfather, Mark O. Eslinger (Linda); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Abigail “Abby” Jayde Eslinger, and her beloved grandfather, José Augusto Mendoza.

Isa completed sixth grade through online classes and was getting ready for seventh grade. She enjoyed math, intriguing wooden puzzles, crafts, crocheting, playing volleyball and swimming, and watching her big brothers play volleyball.

Isa loved giving gifts. She chose them thoughtfully and often made them herself. She would show family and friends what she was working on, then keep working diligently until it was ready for the person she had in mind. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1205 Dolley Madison Blvd., McLean, VA 22101. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. William T. Chaney Jr.
