On Saturday, July 1, 2023, Douglas Miller Ireland passed away peacefully at his home in

Gaithersburg, Maryland. Douglas was born on November 28, 1944, to the late Otto Miller Ireland and Esther Eudora Ireland in Washington, D.C. Beloved husband of Judy Marlene Ireland (married 57 years), loving father to Kevin Douglas Ireland, Christine Celeste Ireland, and Kathryn Louise Ireland-Pardini, grandfather to Megan Elizabeth Ireland-de Valroger, great-grandfather to Maeve Marie de Valroger, father-in-law to Craig Pardini, and grandfather-in-law to Whitney de Valroger. Doug was a veteran with the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War as a corpsman. Following his service, he had a distinguished career at the National Institutes of Health for 40 years as a Clinical Chemist. Doug loved his family more than anything.

He will be forever loved and remembered in all of our hearts.
