Bryan Tashinga Mashiri

On Thursday, February 22, 2024 Brian Tashinga Mashiri, age 21, of Gaithersburg, MD died far too soon. Born on June 19, 2002 in Johannesburg, South Africa to Moses Bryan Mashiri and Ellen Vonai Mamutse. Having come to the United States seven years ago, he attended Richard Montgomery High School Rockville, MD. There he earned honors recognition several times. After he completed his secondary education, he continued his studies at the University of Maryland, where he studied information science and technology. He enjoyed sports, participating in the track and field and social rugby at the university. A well rounded individual, he was an avid reader, with a curious mind.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Tanya (Tapiwa) Cheuka of Ethiopia and his brother Kundai Mashiri of Gaithersburg, MD. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Mary Theresa Mamutse of Zimbabwe and his niece Nuri Cheuka of Ethiopia.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:30  pm at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Mercy Seat Chapel, 17604 Washington Grove Lane, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, (301) 740-8118.
