On Sunday, May 8, 2022, Gavina Casil Blake, of Gaithersburg, MD, died quietly at the age of 91 with her devoted daughter, Nelda by her side. Born on February 19, 1931, in the Philippines. The loving mother of Edna (David) Heiser of North Potomac, MD, Delia (Abraham) Bowen of Sydney, Australia, and Nelda Borbonga Abaga of Boyds, MD. Grandmother of Katrina Heiser of the United Kingdom, Alicia (Alan) Robrecht of Leesburg, VA, Austin Bowen of Washington DC, Dean Bowen (Christine Carney) of Baltimore, MD, and Karen Borbonga (Bernard Uyson) of Boyds, MD. Great grandmother of six. She is the sister of Teodosia Casil Lorona. Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her husband Marianito Borbonga (1986), her second husband Robert Blake (1996), and her grandson Karl Heiser (2015). Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Thibadeau Mortuary Chapel, 124 E Diamond Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Interment will be at 1:00 pm also on Friday at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Road, Germantown, MD 20876.
