Owner/Funeral Director

James J. Thibadeau was born in Washington, DC and raised in Rockville, Maryland. As the youngest of eight children, James was raised by Dr. Robert T. Thibadeau and his wife, the late Janette Buckner Thibadeau. His parents instilled him with Catholic values as well as a respect for all faiths. In an effort to broaden his understanding and appreciation of different cultures as well as expand his educational boundaries, Jamie joined the U.S. Air Force. There, seeing how much his assistance could better the lives of families, Jamie realized his calling to the funeral profession.
A long time resident of Montgomery County, Jamie has been assisting the community through funeral service for over 20 years. His gentle demeanor and genuine interest in supporting the community shines through in each service he performs.
With 20 years of experience, Mr. Thibadeau has worked with grieving families to create a meaningful farewell to those who have lived and died. All who have worked with him to either create a burial or cremation ceremony have experienced a gentle kindness that has been a comfort to family and friends of the deceased. Through personal conversations with the family, James is able to provide guidance for those looking for a most meaningful funeral or cremation service.
Brian Patrick McKee
Funeral Director
brian@interfaithfunerals.com
Born into a heritage of civil servants, it was no surprise Brian Patrick McKee chose a career in funeral care. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Merritt Island, Florida, Brian was offered a taste of community diversity. He knew that by moving to Washington, D.C. he would gain an even greater opportunity to meet people of differing backgrounds.
Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and siblings, all who actively serve their community as members of their local fire department, Brian began work in the funeral industry in 2000.
While working for a conglomerate-run business, he quickly learned that he preferred the operational style and personal attention a family owned funeral home offered its families. In 2001, Brian joined the family-owned Thibadeau Mortuary Service.
While continuing to pursue his degree from the Mortuary Science Program at the Community College of Baltimore County, Brian contributes on a regular basis by providing thoughtful guidance to families and friends who have recently lost someone special. "Some may not understand my interest in becoming a licensed mortician, but for me the decision was simple; there's nothing more rewarding than hearing the stories and sharing in the final care of one's life."
Richard Thibadeau
Mortuary Assistant richard@interfaithfunerals.com
Richard Thibadeau comes to the funeral home as an extension of his long career in church music. He was born in Washington DC and raised in Rockville, MD. Like all of the children in his family, he played an instrument, first the piano, then, at 15, the pipe organ. He had long been drawn to the music of worship; his father was the organist at his home church. It was his high school choral experience, however, that solidified his desire to make it an integral part of his career. He graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton NJ in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Music degree, with a specialty in church music.
For the past 24 years, he has helped shape the musical worship at churches in New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. He is an accomplished organist with a talent for building and training choirs. His is currently Director of Music at Christ Church, Episcopal on Capitol Hill.
He began to assist with funerals at the behest of his younger brother Jamie. Helping families through the entire process was a natural step for Richard. He had been the organist at hundreds of funerals over the course of his career and continues to perform that function at many services.
A resident of Washington DC, Richard has experienced first-hand the connection of people and pets. Caring for the disposition of pets has become an important part of his newfound vocation. He directs the pet division, Pet Pastures.
