James J. Thibadeau was born in Washington, DC and raised in Rockville, Maryland. As the youngest of eight children, James was raised by the late, Dr. Robert T. and Janette (Buckner) Thibadeau in Rockville, MD. His parents instilled him with Catholic values as well as a respect for all faiths. In an effort to broaden his understanding and appreciation of different cultures as well as expand his educational boundaries.  Jamie joined the U.S. Air Force (1982-1987) where he realized his calling to the fuenral profession and how much his assistance could better the lives of families..

A life long resident of Montgomery County, Jamie has been assisting the community through funeral service for over 20 years. His gentle demeanor and genuine interest in supporting the community shines with each family he serves.

Mr. Thibadeau has worked with grieving families for most of his life to create a meaningful farewell to those who have lived and died. All who have worked with him to either create a burial or cremation ceremony have experienced a gentle kindness that has been a comfort to family and friends of the deceased. Richard W. Thibadeau, Mortuary Assistant
Office Phone: (301) 495-4950

Richard Thibadeau comes to the funeral home as an extension of his life long career in church music. He was born in Washington DC and raised in Rockville, MD. Like all of the children in his family, he played an instrument, first the piano, then, at 15, the pipe organ. He had long been drawn to the music of worship; his father was the organist at his home church. It was his high school choral experience, however, that solidified his desire to make it an integral part of his career. He graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton NJ in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Music degree, with a specialty in church music.

For the past 28 years, he has helped shape the musical worship at churches in New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. He is an accomplished organist with a talent for building and training choirs. His is currently Director of Music at Christ Church, Episcopal on Capitol Hill.

Richard began to assist with funerals at the behest of his younger brother Jamie. Helping families through the entire process was a natural step for Richard. He had been the organist at hundreds of funerals over the course of his career and continues to perform that function at many services.

Each funeral director and member of our funeral home staff is dedicated to providing the families we serve with the highest-level of care. By entrusting your loved one to Thibadeau Mortuary Service, you are ensuring that your family will be taken care of from the start of the funeral planning process until long after the service has taken place.

If you have any questions for our funeral home staff or want to inquire about a particular service offered by our funeral home, do not hesitate to reach out at anytime. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have immediate need, give us a call right away.
