Tissue & Organ Donation

Giving Back with Tissue Donation

Many people like the idea of giving something back to the world after their passing. As a result, a growing number of people are opting to donate their organs and tissues to medical research. If you are interested in this type of donation, Thibadeau Mortuary Service can help you make the arrangements.

There are generally two ways to better the lives of others through tissue and organ donation: either donation for medical research or donation for transplantation. Thibadeau Mortuary is one of the few funeral homes to promote and actively assist families with these wishes.

Common Misconceptions

A common misconception about tissue donation is that older people or those have a history of serious illness will not qualify. Although this may be true for the transplant of organs and tissues, this is rarely true for those donating organs and tissues to medical research. Additionally, the majority of people do qualify for the www.LifeLegacy.org research program.

What's more, with this exceptional program there is absolutely no cost to the participating family. Life Legacy will handle all of the expenses related to the donation, the cremation of remaining tissues and return of the cremated remains. This leaves the family to budget funds for a more elaborate and meaningful memorial service, cemetery site, celebration of life or to invest in the survivors' future. See our selection of Cremation Urns.

If you have questions about tissue or organ donation, please give us a call at (301) 495-4950 or email us at info@interfaithfunerals.com.
